Blood Red

Well, this is another Pokemon fan art. I made this with a pencil, sketching it out first. Then I took a piece of paper on top of it and traced it with pen and then used watercolor pencils. C:

That's Red, from the games (if any of you start to say Ash I'm gonna flip out on you), and he's... err... falling off of Mt. Silver while laughing maniacally? o___e Oh gosh. And he's all bloody and his backpack's falling with him along with his hat  and it's snowy and dark and gosh he looks bloodthirsty.

...Fanfiction, anyone?

I like this because he's put together well, I love his expression (it may sound weird, but I like drawing evil smiles and whatnot xD), and I like how the blood looks. For the blood, I got my brush really wet and drew the pencil on the tip and flicked it and got it really watered down. It's something I need to do again. xDD I like painting blood.

What I don't like is the lack of depth. My colors were limited and I've never been good with watercolors. Watercolor pencils are the only way to get it to be halfway decent with me.

Be Home Soon

This would be Delia Ketchum. From Pokemon.

Kid's show. Pokemon. Fifteen year old...

I am a woman-child. o__o

Oh, wait, no I'm not. xD Everyone loves stuff from their childhood. And it's not like I'm up every Saturday watching the new episodes. Oh, wait, that's because it sucks now. -__-

ANYWAY! My thoughts on this: the background sucked before I added shading. Really, it was crappy and half-assed. But after the shading, it looks halfway decent. Don't stare at the drawers on the vanity too long please. Her expression came out great, and her tears are really visible and bright, and she looks really depressed and lonely.

Think about it: she's at home, alone, all the time, with a Mr. Mime. Yes, Mimey is adorable and keeps good company, but you just get lonely sometimes, and this is one of those moments. Delia was going to be a really great trainer, and then she got pregnant with Ash, and she decided to be a stay-at-home mom. A part of what she's feeling might be envy, but the rest of just lonliness. Her son's been away for a while now. He sends her trophies and whatnot, and calls and tells her of the great stuff he's accomplished... but where does that leave her?

Also, in the picture she's holding, it's probably either the picture of her when she was little with Professor Oak and that other dude from the third Pokemon movie that got sucked in by the Unowns, or a picture of her with Ash as a baby and his dad. Either one, I think, fits the mood of nostalgia and loneliness.
